It’s never too early to start planning for your future

August 29 2012

It’s never too early to start planning for your future.  Whether you’re in Grade 7, 9 or 11, it’s best to start thinking about your options and exploring what is right for you well in advance of Grade 12.

It may take years after you graduate high school for you to figure out the best “career” (occupation) choice, so don’t put too much pressure on making a decision right now.  Instead, use a tool like myBlueprint Education Planner to set short and medium term S.M.A.R.T goals, plan your high school courses and explore post-secondary opportunities that interest you.  After all, the next step after high school isn’t your full-time occupation, it’s post-secondary!

This September you’ll find a completely redesigned myBlueprint Post-Secondary Planner. Here you can quickly search, filter and compare post-secondary opportunities in every pathway: Apprenticeships, College Programs, University Programs and Workplace Sectors.

  • The Search bar has been improved with more accurate keywords – and keyword improvements will continue throughout the year to help you find the program that you’re searching for.
  • A reclassified Category filter lets you narrow down results based on clear and accurate subject areas such as Architecture, Health Care or Journalism.
  • We’ve made it easier to view and compare the wealth of information on each program with less scrolling and easy to read information headers.
  • Finally, you won’t see comparison pages opening in new window after new window. All of your searches are saved and contained within one browser window.

So don’t wait until right before you need to apply – start exploring opportunities today and give the new myBlueprint Post-Secondary Planner a try!
