Students can’t get enough of myBlueprint! Our personalized tools are helping students plan their education, their career, and overall future. Devya channeled her excitement for myBlueprint throughout high school, which aided in her educational success.
My name is Devya Kumariah! I just finished my grade 10 year at Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute, and I have been using myBlueprint since I was in grade 7. I still remember the excitement I had when my guidance counselor first introduced the website to me. I was eager to log in and start planning out the courses I wanted to take in high school.
Now that I am in high school, I have realized that myBlueprint is so crucial for my success as a student. I’m on it at least every month! It helps me plan out my courses for the grades ahead. This website is where I figured out what career I wanted to pursue, which is to be a Lawyer. It is also where I created my resume and cover letter! Now that I am applying for jobs, I am often on myBlueprint to add or delete information from my resume.
The website itself is very straightforward and easy to use. I recommend it to every student about to attend high school or is currently enrolled in high school. MyBlueprint is a website designed for the success of students!
Devya made the realization that myBlueprint was crucial to her education, and so can you! She used the High School Planner to plan her courses for the years ahead, which automatically creates a student’s Pathway Eligibility. This innovative tool allows students to see different post-secondary pathways that are available to them, based off of their unique current courses.
Using the Occupation Planner, Devya was able to narrow down different career paths, and conclude that she wanted to be a lawyer. Once students search for an occupation, they are provided with specific details of the job such as main duties, provincial salary estimations, education requirements, related videos, and employment growth. If students want to browse related occupations, they will find a comprehensive list in the “resources” tab.
The Occupation Planner includes a job search related to each specific occupation that features current job postings. Students can use the Resume and Cover Letter Builder where they can input their education, extra-circulars, volunteer experience and other skills and achievements. This tool is especially helpful for students, as they can format their resume to favour someone with more extra curricular experience than formal work experience.
