Why do you love myBlueprint? Earlier this year, we released our first student submission about why they love myBlueprint. Chantal shares her positive experiences, and the details on how myBlueprint has relieved her stress of choosing a career to pursue. By reading her post, you too can learn how to enter contests, and alleviate stress.
Hello, my name is Chantal, and I started using myBlueprint in the ninth grade at my high school, Father John Redmond Catholic Secondary School and Regional Arts Centre. After high school, I plan on studying at Ryerson for their Creative Industries program. I love the arts, but I don’t want to waste my business skills. So, using myBlueprint, I found this amazing program that the two sides of me!
I visit the myBlueprint website daily. I enjoy taking the daily CareerIQ quiz and gaining points that I use towards entering contests! myBlueprint even taught me how to write a resume, and I’ve been applying to jobs ever since! I also use the Post-Secondary Planner that helped me to find the intriguing Creative Industries program that I mentioned before. On myBlueprint’s page about the Creative Industries program, it suggested a few careers that I could pursue with this program, including Casting Director and Talent Agent.
In grade nine, I went through a phase of worrying about not knowing which career I wanted to pursue. Once I had more knowledge, I felt calmer about the future! When I hear my peers stressing about the same things, I always recommend myBlueprint.
It’s awesome to see that Chantal is taking advantage of so many of myBlueprint’s tools! In 2014 we launched CareerIQ, an interactive quiz that aids students in becoming more aware of the different post-secondary opportunities that are available to them. Now in 2015, myBlueprint gave away two, $500 scholarships as well as various gift cards to students who completed these questions about available post-secondary programs around the country.
The Post-Secondary Planner allows students to search through different post-secondary options, as well as use filters to aid in customizing their results. Having the ability to compare hundreds of post-secondary options is a great way to pick a school that is right for you! Students will receive information on the program including the admission requirements, costs, campus info, sports, helpful links, and even other similar programs.
Chantal also used our Resume and Cover Letter creator. Here, students can enter in their education, extra circulars, skills, volunteer experience and much more! Our templates are customizable to put your best foot forward. No prior work experience? No problem!
